it can be very informative. like, idk, back home i could tell if mom had had a bad day the second she walked through the door, and i could also tell which specific coworker had annoyed her. and if dad was stuck on a book chapter or if he'd spent the day writing a lot, and when their moods aligned, i could ask for anything and get it.
here i always know if the city's giving out drugged shit so i'm p. good at avoiding it. and with people i'm familiar with i know like, the specific shape of their feelings. and with new people i can usually tell if they're creepy or not, like the new wizard, he's cool.
( oliver is the opposite: on the shorter side at 5'7; rail thin with just enough muscle on him. he doesn't work out, doesn't go outside much, but he looks rather comfortable with himself regardless. feels content, too, when he raises the lavender mocha up to his lips and takes a sip of the very sugary beverage. he's sitting--closeish to the front door, a scone sitting with a bite taken out of it on the plate in front of him.
caleb stalks the network, but so does oliver; enough that when he sees him enter, he raises his eyes above the to-go cup in his hand and waves a hand out towards him. )
It's good you came. I don't think I would've made it much farther. ( it's not that he feels exhausted; he's just lazy as fuck. )
( on the contrary: he inherited all of william's money, and with nate's new status as his dom, he has permission to spend it. not that oliver has any interest in buying himself stuff. leeching off the generosity of others just feels better, and lets him keep his hoard growing. but: )
I already did, but thanks. Maybe the next one. Didn't get you anything though, because I don't know what you like.

i run every morning, i wasn't gonna give up.
for real, though, if you wanna talk; i don't keep notes bc i don't trust the city to keep them private, and anything you tell me stays between us.

[ he really does like walking and he knows where everything is by now. caleb's 6'0, built, and does not look at all like a therapist. ]
