[ caleb smiles, he gets the wariness— not what it means necessarily, but he recognizes the tone. So he's trying to be reassuring, but also, he thinks people with magic and special abilities are really cool. ]
I've met a bunch of magical people, they're all awesome. Also, I'm pretty close to average on the like, superhuman scale, but I'm an empath. I feel people's feelings.
