I think it would be a bit more nuanced than that. Don't underestimate yourself. Sometimes people who act out just need some understanding.

idk if it'd apply in an outright war. Honestly I'd probably have spent the entire time curled up in a corner, trying to deal with everyone's fear.

War is started by those in power, riots are a reaction against that power, I suppose. It's the imbalance that makes it different.

I thought it was more about scale. Aren't riots always started and escalated by police?

Having military power will create a larger scale, I suppose.

I don't know. It wouldn't shock me, the way those animals behave. That was certainly the case in the Down last month.

Right, back home if there's a peaceful protest they just show up and start teargassing people.

They beat and drugged my friend, the leader of our group, trying to force a confession from him. They didn't care that he was just 17, or that we wouldn't have to do what we did if they had done their job in the first place.

Fuck cops honestly. Did your friend get out?

Thankfully, we had a good lawyer. Not good enough to hold the police accountable, but we got him back.

Precisely. I can't imagine they're any better here, where horrifying crimes are streamed onto the network in the name of "punishment".

right, it's just... idk, way more blatant here, i guess? the cops do whatever they want and nothing bad ever happens to them and we all know??

It doesn't seem like many of the natives are particularly bothered by it, and nobody's going to listen to us.

i'm pretty resigned to things staying as they are.

I think I'd like to spend some more time with the people I've come to love here before I join a revolution.

But it will be sorely needed, before long.

Yeah, I just hope I'll know what I'm doing better by the time it comes. Maybe learn to project emotions the way this other empath can? That'd be helpful.
